Instagram is your resume and where you curate a professional feed. This is "where everybody knows your name." 

TikTok is where you post relatable, unhinged, iPhone behind-the-scenes in-the-moment footage. 

Thoughts: If you post the same thing on each platform, what gives your fans a reason to find you elsewhere? If you are trying to use each platform to the highest of their individual abilities and grow a fanbase of online followers that translate into the real world, it's worth the extra time!

Over 50% of new music discovery now happens on TikTok. In 2024 over 84% of the songs that landed on Billboard's Top 200 Global Chart went viral on TikTok prior to hitting the chart. Twelve percent went viral after, leaving only 4% without a viral moment on the platform. 

If listeners aren't emotionally invested in your music before the song ever drops, it will be hard to get them there when it does.
